Aston Martin Vanquish: The ExteriorAll the previous Aston Martin models were based on a steel unibody however Aston Martin Vanquish's supporting structure is a monocoque of an original section made of hydroformed glued together aluminum panels. Supporting composite panels are fixed to the finished Aston Martin Vanquish chassis. Plastic outer elements including rear and front bumpers and the grille are also supporting ones. Carbon ribs are installed behind and in front the monocoque. The windscreen pillars are also made of carbon as well as gigantic transmission tunnel. The latter is to a great extent responsible for Aston Martin Vanquish being a record breaker in terms of the body's torsional stiffness. The construction is then "dressed" in aluminium plates. Aston Martin Vanquish car's exterior makes you think of Aston Martin DB7 Vantage. Identical headlamps' outlines, grille's shape, and huge unit of spot and fog headlamps in the front bumper contribute to this. Anyway, if you place Aston Martin Vanquish and Aston Martin DB7 Vantage side by side you will see evident differences in their exteriors. That means that it's not about the design borrowing but about truly British loyalty to stylistic brand traditions.
