Aston Martin Vanquish: The History of the Model

Aston Martin V12 Vanquish was introduced in 2000.

Regardless the fact that technically it was the most advanced car for the time not only among Aston Martin models but among all Ford-made cars, Aston Martin V12 Vanquish was still the successor of unrivaled gigantic coupes and cabriolets called Aston Martin V8.

Aston Martin V12 Vanquish was the first automobile produced within the frameworks of the new concept introduced by Bob Dower: Aston Martin automobiles had to remain being that bombastic however they had to get rid of the stereotype of being technically archaic. The above mentioned Aston Martin V8 could hardly be changed in that way and so the main feeling an inexperienced owner of that had had was the feeling of fear.

A concept Aston Martin Vantage was showed to the public during Detroit motor show, which happened in two years before Aston Martin V12 Vanquish made its debut (in 1998). That concept was showed to solve two problems: it had to up-date the company's image and to become a kind of platform for the newest V12 engine's debut made for Aston Martin DB7.

The effect was beyond all creators' expectations and so it was decided to put the car into serial production. However that required considerable expenditure, which favoured the creation of a "production lab" where they could simply produce unique automobiles to "test" technological innovations to be then used when producing serial models.

That was that very lab that presented the world with amazing Aston Martin V12 Vanquish.
